FINDING A NEW HOME

Ive enjoyed my AG Rebecca for sometime now.Last night, I finally sent her along her way with a new family. They came all the way from Leander to get her. As hard as it is to let go of some of my beauties, it is a wonderful feeling knowing your bringing happiness to  others.Shortly after, I recieved a pic of Rebecca's new mom, a 5 year old with the biggest smile on her face.

2 minute Bistro Table

It will take you longer to gather the materials for this project..than it will take for you to make it.You will need a  mini hat box ...white construction paper, tape, and a slender aluminum can simply follow instructions and you'll have a beautiful table in minutes. 1.remove lid from the hat box 2.tape construction paper around can 3.place lid on top of pedestal 4.add napkins, plates ,silverware and flower. *This project can  be used for various doll sizes. The table looks to scale with Corolle Dolls and an American Girl Doll, so any doll size 10-18 would be excellent.

Cinderella's Big Chop.

I recovered a 16 in singing Cinderella this weekend..We chopped off her 12 in mane and gave her big soft hair...Shes now a fashionista and ready to rock some exclusive fashions. We created a no sew maxi dress from the sleeve of a brightly patterned blouse..the bistro table was made from a mini hat box....I 'll post the info on the dress a bistro table soon!

My Wish List

This is number 1 on my list to Santa..Along with her ultra girly party accessories, Ce'cile dressed for the masqurade ball is at the top of many Xmas list.

Reflecting Back......

This photo is from the Integrity Doll Website, Isn't She Beautiful !    As the end of year closes in, we are preparing for the holidays. We have attempted 3 times to put our tree up but, somethings always missing or burnt out, so we must stop. I am convinced, once we finally get the lights on and decorations... it will in fact, be the prettiest tree we ever had. Last year, I was very happy with everything and did a small photo shoot for my first Ethnic Hair makeover ( see pictures below) . This is really a special time for me.. because last year during this time I discovered a love for Fashion Doll Collecting .                        Check Out this video of  fashion doll accessories  created by Louis Vuitton   I thought I had hit a brick wall with doll collecting and had not  purchased a doll in months. I just didn't seem to see anything, anywhere that excited me .. until I discovered this site www.dollobservers.com .  This was much bigger than Barbie..

Sometimes You Have To Just Jump

After hearing back from the Univeristy of Texas about the acceptance of my informatl class, I looked at it as a sign to go ahead and move forward!!! My goals are to have my first Winter Workshop this year 2012/2013 and promote my tea parties and worshops once a month!!! My new website is up, so check me out at www.dollparty.weebly.com !!  I faithfully lauched my company this month called Dolls, Art and Education. Its a fun site, full of dolls, polls, shopping and information on registering for workshops here in Austin,TX or scheduling a doll party in your area!

Doll Collecting 101?

I'm sure there have been times where you run into people who think its very weird to collect dolls and even more strange if you admit to playing with them. When I tell people about my collection and show them pictures, most seem to be very intrigued. I recently submitted an idea for a continuing education class at a local university, much to my surprise the class has been picked up and will be offered in the Spring.. Its called Modern Doll Collecting I am the brainchild behind this idea to spread the love for collecting to a new generation of people and to continue connecting with those who have enjoyed this hobby. I plan to create an intermediate course and advance course in the near future... wish me luck!

Playing with Dolls as therapy?

The wall is actually wallpaper that looks like bricks                                    The aprons, actually  napkins with ribbon hot glued to them                        All the desserts where made by using sculpting clay and a You Tube tutorial                                                 Carmel and Strawberry Frappuccinos                    I made the Frappuccino machine from scrap galvanized tin that I folded and attached black  electrical tape and foam  for the lid                         Again scrap tin, a marker and index card create the coolest menu board                                         A straw recycles as a rail on the counter top               I cut out the Starbucks logo and glued it to a piece of  folded galvanized tin to create the counter top               Chocolate brownies with pecans and a Strawberry Frap hot glued to a Scrabble square             Some of the girls.. Chloe,

Welcome Everyone!!

Addy in front of the American Flag                                       I used an epoxy to adhere the tin and wood                           A cut out of a window with real dried flowers hanging A pie cabinet with a sweet potato pie     I want to welcome everyone to my Doll Party.  This is the place were we hang out and I get to share my doll collection and projects.  Today, I'm posting pics of an American Girl Cabin for Addy, I made a few weeks ago. I used an old dresser, wallpaper that looked like aged wood, galvanized tin and furniture purchased from Hobby Lobby. I made the sweet potato pie, farm eggs and watermelon all by myself
