I recently purchased a Barbie who embodied the 70's Soul Train dancers. Fashionista#105 is Afrolicous! She has big hair, hoop earrings and the curves to match. She could definitely be a Soul Train dancer.
In 2011, I started seeing Barbies with textured hair. Consumers started customizing their Barbies hair. At the time the pipe cleaner method was used to add texture and a natural look to black fashion dolls. Mattel finally decided to cash in on this and created a gorgeous fashionista, #105. Fashionista #105 is the best natural hair doll that I've seen. Her hair feels and looks real.Take a look at this review. The doll is priced less than $8.00 at Walmart. The only set back is, the doll has a stiff body. Her curves are to die for and it would be great if this doll could pose and move. If your listening Mattel we need a curvy, articulated body...ASAP!

Doll Review of #105
What do you think about #105, have you added her to your collection yet? Isn't she a Bad Mama Jama?
She's a beautiful doll. Mattel did a great job replicating the texture of natural hair. Adding articulation to her curvy body would have made her perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes, Once I saw her on your blog I had to have her. To bad the Made to Move bodies do not come in curvy...
DeleteIt's really too bad to have to pay extra to rebody. But yes, it would be nice if the MTM body was also
Deleteavailable in curvy.
